Lets rewrite the script

Miscommunication runs wild within the film industry. This leads to mistrust, assumptions, and resentment. The Better Sets Project aims to close those gaps, start honest conversations, and gather insights from everyone across the board.

Protecting the Creative Force of Actors

Edit is a short film born out of the realities of the film industry. Too often, getting the shot and turning a profit have mattered more than the people making it- especially the actor. In each and every actor, there is an immaculate soul and a creative force- given to us by God- that cries out for dignity, respect, and safety. When nurtured, it creates timeless performances; when violated, it leads to silence, shame, and withdrawal. The world cannot afford to lose those voices. Through performance, actors create emotional resonance that shapes perspective, shifts behaviour, and even changes society. When that resonance is dimmed, our collective humanity suffers.

Bridging Communication Across the Industry

Bridging the communication gaps between departments is our main aim. If effective communication and transparency were made a priority and became an integral part of the culture, then a cohesive and open-hearted environment — where respect is the standard, work runs smoother, and people feel motivated to show up fully — would be the reality. When everyone is treated with humanity, conflicts ease, time pressures lessen, and productions benefit from a more positive, collaborative vibe. As a result, the number of “horror stories” from actors and crew would lessen.A book of anonymous experiences by actors and crew alike designed to shine a light on how everyone really feels. The purpose of this is to start conversation and work towards solutions. The book will be compiled and then distributed.
